Daejeon Cafe: Cafe Bru // 카페 브루

Daejeon Cafe: Cafe Bru // 카페 브루

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything on this blog! But I’m finally back in Daejeon after about three weeks at home visiting family in the US and I’m finally getting back into the swing of things so hopefully there will be lots more cafe’s coming your way very soon!

Today we’re visiting Cafe Bru (카페 브루) which is located, yet again, in Galmadong.

You’ll know you’ve arrived when you see the cool old school car sitting outside.

Inside the decor is beautiful. It has a much more subdued and vintage look as opposed to a lot of cafe’s going up these days.

At the counter you’ll find the small menu along with a little note to “Enjoy your time here quietly.”

My friend and I both ordered hand drip coffee’s and they were very good. Strong but not too bitter.

When we arrived at about 12:00 there was only one other customer who was at the bar talking to the owner most of the time. So we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

This kind of cafe, with a more subtle aesthetic and focus on good coffee, is exactly my style and I will definitely be visiting here again! Plus it’s a walking distance to Dunsan so it can make a good first stop of the day if you’re planning to end up in the area later on.

I highly recommend Cafe Bru. Let me know if you end up visiting it!

I hope this finds you all well and to any EPIK teachers reading this, good luck with your first day of school tomorrow!

Address is here:

  1. So great to see you! Would have loved to have visited longer -so happy tho to see you as much as we could. Love reading your blogs and seeing your part of South Korea through your eyes & words. Love to you-Rita & Jed

  2. I would love to own a little cafe like that some day. Just seems so special to serve a space to the public which is cozy and comforting. Of course it would also be lovely to sort out the interior design and make/serve coffee and cakes too. Maybe my dream is too ambitious, but keeping it as an option isn’t so silly. Right?
